Christmas Party 2007

Christmas Party 2007

Our Club held another very successful Christmas party on Tuesday, 11 December. As usual, lots of guests were present. Numerous members of the Club were involved in organising the event. It was a beautiful party with plenty to eat and drink, enjoyed by the members and their guests and friends. Terri Garner was delighted to perform the entertainment again for us this year at the Christmas party. Very well done, Brian and Terry! Our charming guest-singer has surpassed our expectations and, undoubtedly, deserves to be invited to some other events organised by the Club in future. The dinner did not include Turkey this year - President David's choice was roast lamb for main course. The Corus Hotel management and staff did a wonderful job and there was more wine than those present could consume for a change! During dinner Brian and Ken sold the raffle tickets helped, by Goetz and others. Terri G provided the musical accompaniment. The prizes were displayed on a large table next to the restaurant entrance. The draw took place after dinner and the total raised from the raffle and auction was over £600 for the Club's Charity Trust Fund. A BIG thank you to all who very generously donated the prizes and purchased tickets. The members, visiting Rotarians and guests danced and talked and drank until past 11.00pm. We were again impressed by the festive tables which were decorated in such a sophisticated manner by Andrea Cluit. A big thank you, Andrea, for that! Also, very impressive was the music and solo performance by a professional solo vocalist Terry, invited by our Club's President Brian Clarke. Well done to everyone who participated in such a memorable and festive event! ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL AND ENJOYABLE PADDINGTON ROTARY EVENT - Well done all.
